Description
ROC Pilot — Remote Operations Centre (4 positions)
Remote Robotic Systems | Mississauga, Ontario | Part-time (min. 10 hours/week) | Shift-based (24/7) | CA$40-50/hour
We're hiring part-time ROC Pilots to help launch a new 24/7 Remote Operations Centre.
About Remote Robotic Systems
Remote Robotic Systems is building the future of air, land, and sea robotics across Canada. We deploy drones, UGVs, ROVs, sensors, and autonomous systems for public-safety agencies, utilities, enterprises, and government organizations — making their operations safer, smarter, and more efficient. We're not just a technology integrator; we're helping define how Canada operates in the field.
Our Remote Operations Centre (ROC) is a command-and-control hub where real-world missions come to life. From a centralized facility in Mississauga, ROC Pilots monitor, coordinate, and fly autonomous systems across multiple simultaneous deployments anywhere in the country — live sensor feeds, multi-platform fleet management, real-time situational awareness, and mission-critical communication, all through one unified operations hub. It's purpose-built for clients who can't afford to fail: emergency responders, utilities protecting critical infrastructure, and government agencies operating in complex environments.
We're growing fast. Come fly what comes next.
The Role
We're looking for part-time ROC Pilots to operate drones remotely from our Mississauga command centre as part of a 24/7, shift-based operation. This role suits someone who thrives in a structured, high-responsibility environment and wants to be at the controls as we build one of Canada's most advanced operational drone platforms. You'll fly multiple aircraft simultaneously, manage live missions, and help shape how the ROC operates from day one.
What You'll Do
- Operate drones remotely through the ROC in full compliance with Transport Canada regulations
- Manage and monitor multiple simultaneous drone flights
- Execute pre-flight checks, mission monitoring, and post-flight procedures with precision
- Support customer-facing demo flights alongside the sales team
- Identify, flag, and escalate operational risks or anomalies in real time
- Follow and actively contribute to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain sharp situational awareness across all active missions
- Drive continuous improvement of ROC workflows and processes
What We're Looking For
Required
- Pilot Certificate — Level 1 Complex Operations (Transport Canada)
- Pilot Certificate — Advanced Operations (Transport Canada)
- Hands-on experience operating drones in commercial or industrial environments
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian drone regulations
- Availability and flexibility for shift schedules, including nights and weekends (24/7 operations)
- Exceptional attention to detail and composure under pressure
Preferred
- Experience with BVLOS or dock-based drone operations
- Familiarity with DJI FlightHub 2 or similar fleet-management platforms
- Background in aviation or other mission-critical operational environments
Why This Role Matters
This is a founding operational role at the centre of how a national drone platform is built, run, and scaled. The decisions you make in this seat will directly shape how quickly we stand up operations across Canada, the safety and reliability of missions that matter to real clients, and our ability to grow into new regions, use cases, and airspace categories. You'll operate technology that doesn't exist anywhere else in Canada, on a team that moves fast and builds things that matter.
We're standing this up now. Come fly it with us.
Compensation
- CA$40-50 per hour (shift dependent)
